Dinner Event Wednesday 15 November 2017

The Idea of Love was an outstanding success with a great gathering of guests, delicious Greek food and Greek wine.

Together we explored LOVE and all its expressions over a 4-courrse long-table dinner with my guest speaker, Michael Tsianikas, Professor of Modern Greek at Flinders University, who took us on a journey of discovery.

The ancient Greeks were sophisticated in recognizing that love exists in different forms from Philautia, Philia, Platonic, Eros, Agape and Storge.

My introduction created some lively conversation on what love is, the meaning of love, how we express love, and also how in this modern world we misuse the word love.

Between the courses guests heard two readings from Plato’s Symposium, inspiring further exploration into the meaning and idea of love.

A final thought from me and In the words of Plato “He whom love touches, does not walk in darkness”.
